This week on Design in the News, Neil and Jeff talk Fast Food, God and Music…and try to decode which is more important.  McDonald's released its 2020 sustainability goals this week.  The Home of the Big Mac intend to serve more fruit, vegetables and low fat dairy options along with amping up recycling, but do they go far enough? As the mega-restaurant chain that feeds 1% of the world's population everyday, should it been serving up bigger and better ideas to reduce its environmental footprint, or is it just too big to change?
Then the hosts talk about religion and sustainability, because the Vatican is holding a five-day summit with the tagline “sustainable humanity, sustainable nature, our responsibility”.  It is a joint venture of the Pontifical Academy of Sciences and the Pontifical Academy of Social Sciences.  Can the Vatican bring about a new awareness for going green and inspire Christians to put Earth first over more immediate sins of the flesh?
And lastly, Jeff spent three days within the wild and lyrical Moogfest.  This week, he tells all from how design and technology is influencing how music is performed to the potential of a total immersion of sound, design and culture.
